In 2001 he built his own studio to the centre of Helsinki. Code named Elcamino Helsinki, it was to be the place where he would hack out the ideas that would become Husky Rescue. “The way I work with my music is comparable to the techniques a graphic designer would employ. I would use the same methods and the same aesthetics. I use collage techniques. After recording material for the songs, I build up textures that best suit the feeling and the visual idea I am trying to express.”

Drawing on a personal cultural melting pot which includes Johnny Cash, Erik Satie and Lalo Schiffrin alongside the visual inspiration of David Lynch, Lukas Moodyson and Tarantino, Marko gathered around him a select group of collaborators and set about creating the fragile beauty of Country Falls, which was released last October to great acclaim.

With the album completed, Marko, along with his band, turned his attention to creating the Husky Rescue live experience. Perfectly blending the glacial atmospheres and fragile melodies of the recordings with a healthy undercurrent of funk and sonic experimentation, Husky Rescue really are a must see. After a host of succesful European and UK dates in 2004, expect to see Husky Rescue live in the UK this spring.

Remixes on 'New Light Of Tomorrow' are provided by Evil 9, Bonobo and Linus Loves, who rub up the original in three distinctly different ways: Evil 9 beat in some breakbeat science, Linus Loves add some throbbing disco grooves, and Bonobo tell everyone to calm the f*@k down as they chill proceedings right out.
