Musical collective Half Cousin has regrouped around Orkney island singer Kevin Cormack, with new collaborators from bands such as The Earlies and King Creosote the band is back on the map with a short tour and a new single taken off the band's sophomore album Iodine.

The infectiously poppy The Absentee as the first ever 12" of Half Cousin makes for the most exciting electronic folk pop single this year. For many the stand out tune from their current album the track comes with remixes by Half Cousin admirers Zero 7 (aka Ingrid Eto) showing a refreshing new musical direction the mellow electro duo is taking; a stomping hard house anthem by German electro DJ and producer Justus Koehncke, as well as a krautrock-inspired short & quirky take of the song by Brighton's electro popsters Fujiya & Miyagi.
