Grandadbob are Sheffield duo Dave Johnson (beats) and Vanessa
Robinson (vocals). The duo who have recently signed to Fat
boy Slims new Label Southern Fried Records now bring us Mmmnn .Imagine
Daftpunk electro funk mixed with ambient dub, this makes for
an unusual combination but the duo pull it off. Both tracks
on this single are fantastic, the first being Mmmnn, this
has a chilled out summer sound, yet it has something dark
about both the beats and Vanessa's almost whispered lyrics.
Monster starts off in quite a quirky upbeat manner then it
changes into a darker track with Dave mixing the rather twisted
and surreal beats in the back. This is a name we definitely
ought to be hearing more of in 2003.
