Already described
as The Darkness of British hip-hop, Goldie Lookin Chain
continues in their quest
for universal draw smoking and truthful reflection of life
in the ‘Port.
‘Guns don’t kill people rappers
do’, candidly points out the holes in modern culture
and belly laughs in the face of the establishment. “Guns
don’t kill people rappers do, ask any politician and
he’ll tell you it’s true!”
The only thing letting
this track down is its dirgey sample – which is livened
up towards the end with a touch of soul, but unfortunately
overtakes
the brilliant comedic flows of the Newport 8!
B-side soap bar is brilliant, but far too
blatant to be an a-side me thinks! Maggot stand up however
is poor, unfunny and really difficult to understand.
