Goldfrapp release 'Train', a brand new single
on Mute on the 14th of April.
A magical blend of their trademark otherworldly glamour
and driving basslines 'Train' is the first single to be
lifted from the forthcoming album Black Cherry, the eagerly
awaited follow up to their half-million selling debut, Felt
Mountain. If the sensual world of debut album Felt Mountain
was infused with the scent of dark fantasy and imaginary
landscapes, their new album Black Cherry adds the sounds
and energy of the city, the whirl of fairgrounds and the
rush of desire. Written and recorded over the last 12 months
by the Goldfrapp duo of Alison Goldfrapp and Will Gregory,
Black Cherry features 10 new tracks and is due for release
on the 28th of April.
Released on CD and 12" vinyl, 'Train' comes backed
with ace mixes by T. Raumschmiere, Ewan Pearson and Goldfrapp.
CD copies will also feature an exclusive new bonus track,
'Big Black Cloud, Little White Lie' and the stunning video
for 'Train', directed by Dawn Shadforth - best know for
her work with Primal Scream, Sugababes and Kylie Minogue
As this show completely sold out in
24 hours, Goldfrapp will also be playing another London date
at The Astoria on Monday May 19th. Goldfrapp have announced
five new dates around the London show, starting in Birmingham
on Sunday 18th May and ending with a date in Glasgow 28th May.
