Ginuwine - Back II Da Basics Album Review
Ginuwine
Back Ii Da Basics
Sony Bmg
UK RELEASE DATE TBC
Ginuwine returns with a new set, it opens with the kinda cut that is the bread and butter biz to this man, a track that could even be straight off of an Usher album. Its, catchy, infectious, clubby and has cross over appeal and the track is called "Oh Girl". One thing about Ginuwine is he always unleashes a gem or two on his albums, the kind of track that is so far from the kind that he has to release as singles, because of the need of mass appeal, it is refreshing to hear. One of those kind of cuts is the jaw dropping, total quality R&B masterpiece "Secrets" featuring and produced by the amazing Jazze Pha. The smouldering ballad "When We Make Love" sits well on this set. Another one of them lil gems that Ginuwine comes up with is "Want U Be" This oh so classy down beat swayer is of a kind of breathtaking quality that you can do nothing but Admire. "The Club" is more of the cross over appeal biz. "She's Like", "Glaze In My Eyes" "I'm In Love", "Take A Chance" and "Far Away" all offer more smoothed out grooves to admire. All in all a welcome return from Ginuwine".

I had never heard any of the songs on this cd prior to my buying it, but what
motivated me to purchase it was the mutual interest my husband and I shared
with the song, "Differences" on one of his other albums. That was the first
song we danced to at our "2002" wedding. That was just one of a few picks on
that album we liked. Some of the songs I can't relate my life to because my
lifestyle has changed, but being a lover of good music I'm always in the market
for tasteful lovesongs. Ginuwine has done that again for us with his new
ballads, "Betta Half" and "I'm In Love", he has made lasting memories for me
and my husband because of these songs. He is one of the most talented and
gifted artists I've ever heard. Keep making sweet love songs. -(Y.D.)
I have been a great fan of ginuwine since 96' when i was in 6th grade and heard
his hit 'pony' for the first time, i still jam out to all his old hits and i
love his new ones. What makes his new album excellent in my eyes is that he's
grown in terms of songs styles, but he still manages to be THE SAME OL G, lol,
so i would recommend this song to anione who appreciates a song you can sing to
your hubbie without feeling corny.
p.s. if any guy is reading this, if u want to score big with us ladies, u can
learn a great deal from G.
