'STAY THE SAME' - RELEASE DATE: 3RD MAY 2004
On 3rd May 2004, Go Beat through the Island Records Group
release a brand new single from the multi-platinum selling
soul diva, singer songwriter Gabrielle. Entitled ‘Stay
The Same’, the single is classic Gabrielle - emotive
lyrics, classy production and her trademark smoky vocals. It's just over two years since Gabrielle last stormed into
the UK Top 10, with the massive Airplay hit, 'Don't Need
The Sun', released in Oct 2001. The single rounded off a
phenomenal couple of years for the star.
Her third album, ‘Rise’, originally released
in October 1999, went to No.1 in the UK album charts, subsequently
selling over 1.25 million copies in the UK alone, making
Gabrielle one of the highest selling home-grown artists to
emerge in recent years. The album also provided Gabrielle
with three Top 10 hit singles, 'Sunshine’, 'When A
Woman' and the mighty title track which debuted at No.1 in
the UK singles chart.
Gabrielle's 'Dreams Can Come True: The Greatest Hits' album
followed in November 2001, matching the sales of 'Rise',
and featured two more Top 10 hits, 'Out Of Reach' (Top 5
in April 2001) and 'Don't Need The Sun' (Top 10 in October
2001), the former also the lead track from the hit romantic
comedy Bridget Jones Diary.
