Franz
Ferdinand release a new single, Michael, through Domino Records
on August 16th 2004. The last single to be taken from their
self-titled debut album, which has now sold well in excess
of a million copies worldwide, it will feature 4 completely
new tracks across three formats.
The single will
be released on 2 CDs (RUG184CD1 & RUG184CD2)
and 7” (RUG184). Michael will be accompanied by Missing
You, a track recorded in Germany in May of this year, live
favourite Love and Destroy and Don’t Start, recorded
during the bands album sessions in Malmo with Tor Johannsen.
The single also features a new version of Tell Her Tonight,
on which drummer Paul Thomson provides vocals in German.
The band recently shot the video for the single in Berlin.
It features a cameo appearance by Michael, an acquaintance
of the band and the actual subject of the song.
