Rousing new song L.Wells was recorded a mere couple of weeks ago in Melbourne Australia while the band were in the country as part of the Big Day Out Festival. Band and label were so excited by the results it was decided to scrap the original plans for The Fallen release and incorporate the new track.

The third single to be taken from their second album, You Could Have It So Much Better, which reached number 1 on its release last October, it also features a mix 'ruined' by acclaimed French duo Justice plus a further brace of brand new tracks .

The Fallen was recorded as part of the bands album sessions in Scotland and New York with acclaimed producer Rich Costey.

The single,includes two extra new songs, Jeremy Fraser, a bloggers favourite, sung by Nick McCarthy and Brown Onions, an instrumental recorded in New York. All new songs were produced by Franz Ferdinand and herald another musical leap forward.

Currently on tour in South America where they play a number of headline shows as well as some support slots with U2. The last month has seen the band visit Australia as part of the Big Day Out festival and perform in Japan, where they played a sold-out Budokan show in Tokyo.

The band completed a sold out UK tour in December with an unprecedented 4 night run at London's Alexandra Palace. The band are currently finalising plans for a further UK tour in the early summer before they head out to play festivals across Europe throughout the summer, including a homecoming slot at this years T in The Park Festival.

Their second album has currently sold in excess of 2 million copies worldwide including just short of 600,000 in the UK. The band were nominated for three Brit Awards, won the NME Live Band Awards and received 2 Grammy nominations.

Franz Ferdinand are: Bob Hardy (bass), Nick McCarthy (guitar / keyboards / vocal), Alex Kapranos (vocals / guitar) & Paul Thomson (drums).

hi im mag i think that the video is amazing because it reflects the life of a child in the school and the kids sometimes are really agresive with other boys and in this moment you want to stop the time because they laught of you many times and belive me im studend and i understand this and the song i think that is fabulouos too i hope that franz ferdinand will stil making good songs and videos (my favorite is this fire) ok from mexico a big fan by franz ferdinand p.d:please come to mexico the last time that i see at franz ferdinand was in december 07 in the year 2004 ok bye
