Fire engines are set to release a new single on domino on the 20th of February. The single 'Discord' will be released on 7" vinyl only and will also feature the b-side 'Candyskin', both of which are taken from the band's very first John Peel session and will commemorate the 25th anniversary of its first broadcast.
The single follows the release of 'codex teenage premonition' on domino in September last year. The album featured fifteen previously unreleased live recordings and studio outtakes recorded between 1980 - 81 and captured the raw teenage energy of one the most influential and unique British bands to emerge from punk. The band lasted a mere eighteen months but in that short time produced a handful of records that sound, even now, like nothing else around. Fire engines reformed in 2004 to support their heroes the magic.
Formed in Edinburgh in 1980, the original line up of Davy Henderson (guitar / vocals), Murray Slade (guitar) Russell Burn (drums) and Graham Main (bass) will also play a very rare live date at Islington mil in Salford on the 4th of March.

What a find! Thanks for this, and I'm sorry I missed the gig. Where can I get
the album, whose name I forget, but it had a photo of a bacon and eggs
breakfast on it? It has an alternate version of discord. Where can I get the
"indian films" version of Candyskin?
