Slick, smooth, with a very glossy production and retro 80s vocals. Combine this with some lovely, warm and fuzzy bass and lilting guitars. It should work – and there's nothing wrong with this 3 track single from New York five piece Film School.

All the elements are there to ensure their place amongst the current crop of indie-rockers. It's pared down, haunting and chilled with nods towards Radiohead, Joy Division and The Bunnymen, but lacks the personality and charm of others in and around their genre – Editors or Killers for example. There's very little here than has the 'wow' factor and, as well put together and proficient as it is, it doesn't stick around long in the memory.
