'Junk' is his much-vaunted collaboration with Guru from the legendary hip hop pioneers, Gangstarr, and of course, the Jazzmatazz Project. This single, a reworking of Ferry's genre-defining electro track 'Punk' from 2002 (the precursor by several years of the current fascination with that sound), is one of the hottest tracks from the recent album, a staple of his own global dj sets, and a floor filler for the world's DJ cognoscenti. Due for release on November 6th.
Ferry's had one of his busiest years to date. He's packed arenas at festivals such as Global Gathering and Creamfields, led the Zurich Street Parade (one of the largest street parades in the world) alongside a cast of almost 2 million clubbers, and conquered South America and Eastern Europe. And as the sun sets on another hugely successful Ibiza season following his new residency at Cream at Amnesia, he's about to depart on an unprecedented US tour, 'The Road To Voodoo'. The tour bus that George W. Bush used during his presidential campaign will take Ferry through 20 states and 27 cities, from coast to coast and across the Midwest, where he'll perform with the likes of Red Hot Chilli Peppers, Wu-Tang Clan, Duran Duran, The Flaming Lips, My Chemical Romance, and many more.
The remix package is of the level you'd expect. In addition to the album version, Ferry provides a 'Flashover' mix for peaktime trance-floors, D. Ramirez, an underground legend in his own lifetime, turns in a stunning mix full of his characteristic tweaks and swerving bass, breaks outfit The Body Snatchers continue in fine form, while leading drum 'n' bass star, TC, drops one for the heads.
