Elbow fans who witnessed
the band's 2001 appearance at Glastonbury now have the chance
to see their name on the Mancunian's new LP.
The track, Grace Under Pressure,
features a sample of the Glastonbury crowd singing We
still believe in love, so fuck you.
Elbow are inviting fans who joined in the
mass singalong to go to their website at www.elbow.co.uk
and enter their name, which will then appear on the as-yet-untitled
artwork for the LP, which is scheduled for an August 18th
release, preceded by a single on August 4th.
In addition, subscribers to the site will
soon be receiving an interactive screensaver. This unique
intelligent screensaver is updated daily and allows direct
access to all the areas of the website.
Elbow return in the second half of the year
with their brand new single and LP and confirmed UK live dates,
their first since a one-off appearance at the V2002 Festival
in August of last year.
The band have spent most of the intervening
year in the studio with Ben Hillier recording the follow-up
to 2000s Gold selling, Brit and Mercury nominated debut,
Asleep in the Back.
Further single and LP details will be released
shortly.
Elbow have also announced their first live
shows of 2003, as co-headliners on The Radio One Stage with
The Polyphonic Spree at The Carling Weekend: Reading and Leeds
Festivals. This will be a return for Elbow to the site of
their legendary 2001 show which saw a crowd six deep outside
the second stage at the festival.
