The title of this album may refer to the run of form the band has enjoyed recently. Their last, Dirty South, was a critically-acclaimed and popular album that brought Southern Rock (think Lynyrd Skynyrd) brought bang up to date with the latest Americana. So, great, but expectations are high. And, unfortunately, the album doesn't quite hit those heights consistently. While there are standout tracks, some seem a little undercooked. Any band with three writers and three lead singers shouldn't be short of material, but that's a nagging impression throughout this still-pretty-great album. Songs like Little Bonnie are just plain gorgeous, while Wednesday recalls The Lemonheads at their grungey pop best. It is hard not to like this album. If you liked Dirty South, there is no way you won't also like its follow-up. In fact, if Southern rock has ever done anything for you, you're bound to get a lot from this album. But, maybe get Dirty South first.
