DJ Format has been getting a lot of acclaim
recently with his album ‘Music for the Mature B-Boy’ and
it becomes clear why when listening to this new single.
The beats are in the classic genre of hip hop which are
phat and very rhythmic which definitely gets your head
bouncing. The bassline is infectious and Abdominal’s
raps fits brilliantly to beat. The tune doesn’t perhaps
delve deeply into conscious lyrics and may not appeal to
lovers of hip hop who appreciate the angst of street life.
However ‘Vicious Battle Raps’ contains the
essence of pure hip hop and gives it commercial appeal
without selling out. Excellent.
