Any attempts at modern comparisons don't quite get to the heart of David Ford. To find his actual peers you have to go back to some of the great curveball mavericks of melody, romance and inventiveness. Artists such as Todd Rundgren, Tom Waits and Neil Young, whose haunting, harmonious melodies are frequently offset by barbed, poignant lyrics.

Ahead of the album comes the brilliantly polemic 'State Of The Union, released on September 26th and featuring Ford's own 'live in one take' video. Distilled from 'page after page of vitriolic spouting', the song superbly encapsulates the everyday experience of being lied to, cheated and generally fucked over by Big Government/business/media/record labels, a subject Ford holds close to his heart….

"This four and a half minutes of bile", is extended closer to eight minutes when performed live with audiences mesmerised as Ford runs around the stage like a man possessed utilising guitars, percussion and half inched technology to create an acutely intense performance.
