On January 3 rd Incentive and Product Recordings bring you ‘Object of My Desire’ the debut single by US dance diva Dana Rayne.

Hailing from Long Island, Dana is already a huge success on the American club scene where she started off as a DJ in New York. This led to the demand for her to release her own record and Dana recorded ‘Object Of My Desire’, a cover version of the huge 80’s stateside hit by Starpoint.

Originally licensed from Next Plateau in the USA two years ago ‘Object Of My Desire’ was remixed last October by Liverpool based DJ/producers Mark Simon and DJ Puddy. Within a couple of months the song had become an anthem. When Mark Simon turned down the volume fader controls at the 051 club he was met with the deafening response of the crowd singing the song back to him. 12” white label vinyl sales reflected this fascination; constantly selling out and continually being re-pressed over the last year.

During the early summer of 2004 an additional remix by Liverpool producer Quadrasonic was pressed onto vinyl. This fuelled the fire even more and demand for this mix was just as great, further proof that this was a genuinely ‘big‘ record, everyone knew the song, wanted to hear it and when they could find it, wanted to buy it. On the back of the enormous 12” vinyl sales the track is to be made commercially available on Incentive and Product Recordings.

For the commercial release there are brand new mixes to propel this street anthem into a real crossver hit. The main club mix and radio edit are from Northstarz vs PPS. These mixes were created by Northstarz and based on the original DJ Puddy and Mark Simon mix which created all the initial attention. Northstarz are legendary production team Martin Neary and Ian Bland, between them they have been involved in many successful dance acts including N-trance, Dream Frequency, Dancing Divaz and more recently Northern Heightz, Piano Pirates and Lifestylerz.

There’s also a brand new remix from Project 4 aka producers Paul Keenan and Daz Sampson, under their various names; Uniting Nations, PK and The Fraudster they are responsible for some of the biggest club hits within the northern dance scene. Also included are the original mixes mentioned above to make up an awesome package to really drive this song into the national sales charts.

Dana says the idea of having a UK hit ‘blows my mind’ and by the looks of things Dana Rayne is set to be one of the biggest dance artists over the next coming months come Rayne or shine!!
