Born off the back of a film or maybe not? Gabe Saporta talked to contactmusic.com about his band Cobra Starship at this years Leeds Carling Weekend. Cobra Starship leapt on to the scene in support of the cult film Snakes On A Plane starring Samuel L Jackson. The video for ‘Bring It (Snakes On A Plane)’ featured a lot of Gabe’s friends including members of The Sounds, Gym Class Heroes, The Academy Is and Fall Out Boy.

It became very apparent through the interview, these guys really knew they had to take the opportunity they were given and 'strike while the iron’s hot’ as it were. Their debut album, While the City Sleeps, We Rule The Streets, was written and recorded in three weeks. Reinvention is part of the music business, Im sure Cobra Starship won't be the last we here from Gabe Saporta.
