Following
their hugely successful UK tour, including a sold out performance
at the Royal Festival Hall, and the release of a remix EP,
Black Heart, CALEXICO have announced details of the release
of a live DVD. WORLD DRIFTS IN: LIVE AT THE BARBICAN, LONDON
was released on July 12th and features a total of twenty
songs recorded during CALEXICO’s stunning performance
at the Further Beyond Nashville festival at London’s
Barbican Theatre. Recorded in November 2002, the ninety minute
show features Joey Burns and John Convertino joined by their
standard multinational line up, further boosted by the appearance
of the legendary Mariachi Luz De Luna and one of the stars
of the new wave of French Chanson, Françoiz Breut.

a selection of bonus features, including interviews with
the band, Border Horse – a
documentary about the making of the band’s last album
Feast of Wire (filmed in and around Tucson, Arizona by Bill
Carter) – Shot & Mounted, an on-the-road film diary
made by the band’s visual technician James Murray (who
has formerly designed lighting for My Bloody Valentine and
Flaming Lips, amongst others), videos for The Black Light,
Ballad Of Cable Hogue, Crystal Frontier, a documentary made
by Joey Burns entitled The Soul of Mariachi, which features
extensive interviews with members of the Mariachi Luz De
Luna, and a short cartoon entitled El Kabong Rides Again,
which features music by CALEXICO.
