British Sea Power release a new single 'No Lucifer' on March 10th 2008 through Rough Trade Records.
The new British Sea Power album Do You Like Rock Music? Went into the UK LP charts at Number 10. Following this chart success, BSP have chosen the second single from the album: the single 'No Lucifer' will be released on 10th March.
Featuring lyrical references to roe deer, the late wrestler Big Daddy and Pope Benedict XVI's time manning Adolf's anti-aircraft guns, 'No Lucifer' is a joyous blast that aligns good against bad. It's the first BSP single with a lead vocal by singer/bassist Hamilton.
'It's a simple sentiment put through the blender,' says Hamilton. 'It's about good and evil. As they say, it's difficult to know what to make of a world where the Pope is not only anti-contraception and anti-gay, but also anti-aircraft... We put our faith in other things - the natural world and Big Daddy.'
BSP have just finished up a sold-out tour of the United Kingdom and Ireland - culminating in a show at London Koko and a party-time hometown show in Brighton the following night. After Europe, they head to the US for further shows including appearances at this year's SXSW festival in Austin, Texas.
