The Heavies are a band built on strong friendship, strong values and a shared passion for raw, real music. Which is why, whenever the tide of fashion turns they are ahead of the game
riding the first waves.
And now Jan Kincaid, Simon Bartholomew and Andrew Love Levy have reached a new crest. Enlisting the talents of feisty Anglo/Italian, Nicole Russo, whose vocal seduction continues a prestigious line of incredible
singers, to their ranks The Heavies return with a spanking new album,
"allaboutthefunk".
The first cut to be lifted from the album, "BOOGIE", is a classic Heavies dance record, bringing their inimitable sound into the present. Calling on all to believe in themselves, the song is especially
directed to women. The lyrics beckon them to be empowered and not be drawn into situations that
would compromise them. "BOOGIE" is driven by the band's trademark dirty bass line coupled with seductive harmonies. The accompanying video was shot this summer in the old MI6 building in London.
"BOOGIE", will be hitting the streets on October 11th on OneTwo Records,
which is an imprint of Enterprise Records, home of the ultra hip lifestyle label HED KANDI. "BOOGIE" has been remixed by the inimitable Blacksmith.
"allaboutthefunk" will be released on October 18th, 2004.
