The fantastic, Beirut release a new single, Elephant Gun on June 25th 2007. The single is taken from 2006's critically acclaimed album Gulag Orkestar which has become a genuine cult phenomenon, selling thousands by word of mouth as listeners fell for its unique blend of bewitching, romantic vocals and Balkan folk references. Beirut's Zach Condon has spent the first part of 2007 recording the follow-up, which will be released before the end of the year.

Beirut return to Europe in June for the first time since the release of their breathtaking debut album Gulag Orkestar last November. The band will play a string of European festivals (including Glastonbury) and sold out headlining shows in London, Paris and Berlin
