BEATGLIDER: We Gotta Coast Lakota Records
30/06/03M
Beatglider come to us from Essex via Los
Angeles (producing their album at Tim Rothicks studio
) and inthe process of managed to hone a slow and moving sound,
which is a mix between Staind and The Turin Brakes. The lyrics
to We Gotta Coast are simple and sombre:
Weve gotta sleep on a level
rug, but Im always looking around.
Weve gotta make our minds up one day and without a frown
The topic of the future is given the upbeat
Beatglider treatment with help from a nifty backing choral
element that adds ashade of The Delgados and The Polyphonic
Spree to thesong. The song has a country feel to it with a
slow guitar introduction, which indicatesthat they were well
placed supporting The Sleepy Jackson at shows around the country.
They will be announcing further shows this summer, which is
quite fitting as the music certainly has a lazy and summery
feel to it.
