unexplored link between androgynous Latin-disco exotica, cutting-edge urban verbals, and full-on Boys Own rawk power. In that time there have been three UK Top 5 albums: Remedy (1999), Rooty (2001) and Kish Kash (2003), collaborations with vocalists as disparate as Dizzee Rascal and Siouxsie Sioux, and the unstoppable run of raucous, infectious, kaleidoscopic singles that make up this collection.

As well as the singles cd there will be a bonus cd with classic Atlantic Jaxx tracks such as I Live In Camberwell and Camberskank plus b-sides (like the Jaxx DJ set favourite Bongoloid), Jaxx bootleg/remix versions including 2 many DJs Jaxx/Clash er, clash Magnificent Romeo and the live fave ‘Miracles Keep Playing On’ version of Red Alert, as well as acoustic and live versions of Jaxx tracks.  There will also be a dvd release which features all the videos, live footage and Simon Ratcliffe’s short, funny and really rather cleverly edited Jaxx home movie.

With a second new single ‘You Don’t Know Me’ waiting in the wings - once again featuring the Bellrays’ Lisa Kekaula thrashing out rock and house’s differences to everybody’s mutual satisfaction - Basement Jaxx – The Singles is both a timely reminder of just how much the Jaxx have turned dance music inside out and the nonchalant ease with which they continue to drop new ever more exciting sub-cultural car crashes on airwaves and dancefloors around the world.
