Badly Drawn Boy is giving his fans the chance to have their own song, poetry or other writings recorded by none other than the boy himself. This once-in-a-lifetime opportunity is only open to fans who have purchased or blagged his latest album Have you fed the fish?. But first, instead of feeding the fish, you must find it and a golden one at that. And how does it work? Well, there are 5 small golden fishes that have been released. Four of them are in copies of Have You Fed The Fish? around the world, but one of them is here in the UK. In fact, the fish has been set free to surf the web and fans can give themselves the chance to get it by entering the exclusive BDB competition at www.xl-recordings.com. The lucky winner that gets the fish will then have their own material recorded by Badly Drawn Boy. Not only this, by entering the competition at www.xl-recordings.com fans will also be able to access rare and exclusive Badly Drawn Boy video footage. This must see for all fans includes footage of the boy at his 1st big solo show at Shepherds Bush Empire in London from October 2000, and Damon performing 'Pissing in the wind' in a forest, which is probably in Epping, but might not be. As well as all this, November sees BDB return to the live arena in the UK. Starting at Glasgow Barrowlands on Saturday the 23rd and ending at the Brixton Academy on the 10th of December this will be the fans first opportunity to see BDB perform songs from not only Have You Fed The Fish? but also his last (platinum) album About A Boy, the soundtrack to the film starring Hugh Grant. The full tour dates are: November 23rd Glasgow Barrowlands / 24th Northumbria University / 25th Leeds University / 27th Sheffield Octagon / 28th Birmingham Academy / 29th Manchester Apollo / December 2nd Cardiff Uni Great Hall / 3rd Bristol Academy / 4th Nottingham Rock City / 6th Norwich UEA / 7th Cambridge Corn Exchange / 9th Portsmouth Guildhall / 10th Brixton Academy / Tickets £15.00 advance except London £16.50 |
