Ash have always done great choruses, with melodies to die for, and ‘Starcrossed’ is no exception. Some of the song a little cheesy, but a wry sense of humour is never away with lines like ‘We’re starcrossed and can’t escape/ We’re goddamned and can only wait’. I’d heard rumours that they’d grown up and, until the chorus, I thought that was true as it did seem more mature complete with piano and C+W guitars. I needn’t have worried, Ash have written another excellent song.
