Ash
Orpheus
released May 3rd
Ash return with the brand new single ‘Orpheus’ on
May 3rd, which is set to be released through Infectious
Records. Aside from the recent download only track ‘Clones’,
it is the band’s first full single release since 2002’s ‘Envy’,
and sees a decidedly marked departure from the sound of last
album Free All Angels.
2004 marks ten years in the recorded life of Ash and on
the evidence of recent live outings and their forthcoming
fourth album Meltdown, set to be released on May 17, the
year will surely prove to be a vintage to be savoured...
‘Orpheus’ demonstrates Tim Wheeler’s
uncanny knack of penning a great melody coupled with a
harder edged
all round sound - courtesy of producer Nick Raskulinecz.
As chief songwriter and owner of a back-catalogue brimming
with award winning songs, Wheeler again appears to have hit
a rich vein of creativity and an (almost unfair) surfeit
of new songs.
