Album Review

An intelligent, diverse and intriguing album, Noise is full of trip-hop beats, symphonic strings and engaging vocals. If you long for the variety and breadth of Leftfield or Groove Armada with the rock sensibilities of Verve or Oasis, this could be right up your street. Archive's Darius Keeler wasn't allowed to listen to pop music as a boy, which is clear from his confident use of almost orchestral strings on an album that flits from electro-dance to rock and back again.

It's a panoramic musical journey that looks to the future with moments that sound almost like the soundtrack to a sci-fi film, then flips and looks backwards – sometimes as far as the Beatles. A genuinely interesting and highly listenable collection of songs that stands apart from the rest of the crowd.

I like this album. Some parts are really intense and poignant. I think the boys are back on form :)can't wait for them to hit the road again.
