In 2002 the band (now unsurprisingly signed to Warners in France) were again treading pastures new. The result was You All Look The Same To Me, a self-produced hard-hitting, heart-raw opus.
In 2003 they recorded a soundtrack and score for Luc Besson’s Michel Vaillant film, and the anthemic sound of the 4th album Noise quickly followed.
Noise is Archive’s fourth studio album and it’s an emotional, colourful detonation. Conceived in London, the album benefited from some kind of prolific creative frenzy. Strings were recorded, as
well as an acoustic bonus album, at Studio Davout, Paris, with the assistance of Jerome Devoise, their French mixing engineer.
Long-term Archivists Darius and Danny tweak and refine their soundscapes with taste and flair, scuffing-up a drum-loop here, adding dream-dust there. Baroque-sounding keyboards blend timbres and textures as
judiciously as Talk Talk’s Spirit Of Eden, Portishead’s Dummy, or My Bloody Valentine’s Loveless.
The 3 tracks for their download only EP, are taken from NOISE and form the first digital release for the band outside of France.
The band have completed a recent 20 date European sell out tour, and started a busy summer festival schedule headlining 3 successive nights ay Brussels’ Les Nuits Botanique festival. One of the highlights
of their summer is a main stage headline performance at Switzerland’s Heiter Festival in Zofingen on Saturday August 13 th.
