Amy Macdonald released Poison Prince on May 7th 2007. Poison Prince is the first single to be taken from Amy's extraordinary debut album 'This Is The Life' out on Vertigo on the 30th July.

Written by Amy, the dark, vitriolic strum of Poison Prince is about how she feels about those talented musicians who dabble in drugs and before they know it, go from superstar to nothing. Her debut album 'This Is The Life' is brimming with great tunes. As well as Poison Prince there's 'Mr Rock & Roll', sung in Amy's rich, bell-clear, gutsy vocal and possessing a compelling rhythmic punch and a chorus surely set to wow those T In The Park masses. There's also the trumpet-laden, atmospheric 'Let's Start A Band': a simple song, sung brilliantly, roaring powerfully in her ears and in the head.

At just 19, Glaswegian singer-songwriter Amy Macdonald possesses a talent way beyond her years. Having taught herself to play the guitar at 12 and with a huge, raging desire to write and play songs, Amy spent her teens perfecting her craft. After playing a few shows around Glasgow and Edinburgh and receiving a good reaction, Amy sent off some demos, recorded on eight-track in her bedroom. She was quickly picked up by Melodramatic Records, a London based production and management company. Within a few months, she'd secured a publishing deal with Warner Chappell and a record deal with Vertigo, home of Razorlight and The Killers.
