Counting the likes of Hot Chip, Jamiroquai and Omar in his legion of fans and admirers, having taught the late great Jay Dilla in the art of making beats, and a lifetime spent on the Detroit frontline with the likes of Kenny Dixon Junior for company leaves Amp Fiddler is one of the most well-connected and industrious men in soul music today.

Opening up the double a-side limited release the album opener Faith is given some Germanic bump from Berliners Jazzanova, complete with a firing new verse from the indomitable Miss Yolanda. On the flip, and arriving with a deft funk remix from fellow Detroit wizard Carl Craig, Ridin' sees Amp embrace his disco side, which Craig turns into a suitably strutting, Off The Wall-esque gem.
