Amp Fiddler - Afro Strut, Album Review

Amp Fiddler - Afro Strut - Album Review

Amp Fiddler
Afro Strut
Album Review

Joseph 'Amp' Fiddler released 'Waltz Of A Ghetto Fly' in 2004 to critical acclaim. He's been well groomed having worked with Prince and George Clinton to name a few. He has his own blend of funk that is seriously soulful and sensitive. I loved his first album and his live performance was one of the best I've ever seen.

'Afro Strut' continues to increase Amp Fiddlers credibility as a serious funk star. 'Faith' is a fantastic opener to this album showing exactly how to get the groove on funk style. It's infectious and joyously positive. 'Find My Way' is a genius track that uses keys and bass to great effect. It's smooth, cool, original and has great rhythm. 'I Need You' has a roots vibe and keeps the Detroit feel good factor also. 'Seven Mile' certainly pays homage to his P-Funk influences to great effect. There's some really soulful numbers there also showcasing how good a singer Amp Fiddler and he certainly is that.

This album is great. It's so positive and funky. We have to respect Amp Fiddler for continuing to remain loyal to what he likes and pushing the boundaries with his own experimentation of sound. It's just as good as the first album and we hope this is start of his meteoric rise as one of the great artists in the area of funk. He's a fantastic singer with a lot of feeling to give anyone who wants to groove. Quality!
