French duo Aloud have released their single ‘Bob O’Lean’ with four remixes including one from Armand Van Helden. It’s a deep house track with a real ethereal sound mainly due to the synthesisers. It’s funky and captivating. I suppose it’s not too ballsy but it’s cool and groovy. The lyrics are repetitive but fit well with the track. The beats are simple. They provide the backbone for all the space style synths that float around on top. The Club Mix is more bangin’ and a bit

trancey as the Armand Van Helden Mix is more big beat, probably best suited to the seasoned clubber. In fact all the mixes on this 12” could find a place somewhere on the dancefloor so it might not make such a bad purchase. Cool.
