The
very talented Alexis Strum is set to release her debut single
Addicted on April 28th via M. Records/WEA.
At 25, Alexis has had an interesting musical
history from singing in indie-rock cover bands to her love
of writing poetry and landing numerous solo acoustic gigs
across London. Having established a reputation as a singer
and writer she was snapped up by Ministry, co-writing and
providing lead vocals for The Thrillseekers - she also sang
and co-wrote on Ed Cases widely acclaimed album Eds
Guest List. Alexis is currently writing for some of
the biggest names in pop.
Whilst ambitious and focussed on achieving
great things in music, Alexis remains sassy, independent,
engagingly good company with a sense of humour and a tale
to tell about every part of her life - this is reflected in
her music.
An intoxicating slice of electro-pop Addicted
is the ideal showcase for Alexis talents as a vocalist,
songwriter and co-producer. Her expressive vocals are the
ideal compliment for the tracks sublime verses and instantly
infectious chorus.
Alexis Strums debut album will be
released later in 2003 and will feature songs written with
Brian Higgins (Sugababes Round Round) and John-Jon
Robinson (TLC, Babyface). Aside from Addicted
other highlights of the album include the fiery hard-edged
funk of Rodeo, the sharp grooves of Keep
Up, the ethereal folk of Still and Coming
On Strong, with its shimmering beats and powerful
chorus. It all adds up to introduce Alexis Strum one
of the most exciting new talents of the year.
