Leaves
Of Grass is Adam Snyder’s stunning follow-up single
to Two Moons both taken from the debut album, Across The
Pond (HTI).
Leaves of Grass is released on March 29th,
but is also available to download, exclusively at www.adamsnyder.com and is completely
free!
As with its predecessor Leaves Of Grass has been remixed
by Marius De Vries (renowned for his work with U2, Bjork
and Madonna amongst others) into a sublimely beautiful melodic
dream complete with shimmering bass, pedal steel courtesy
of BJ Cole and soulfully sweet backing vocals.
Originally a member of Mercury Rev
side project, Harmony Rockets, Upstate New Yorker joined
the Rev in the mid 90s
at a time when the Deserter’s Songs album saw their
popularity soar.
At the same time he continued to write his own songs and
perform solo shows whenever he had the opportunity. Eventually
in 2000 he realised that he had to take a leap and, leaving
the Rev, struck out on his own full time.
Adam’s début album,
Across The Pond, was recorded over a three-month period
in London and encapsulates a lifetime
of stories, thoughts, observations and snapshots. He performs
the songs with an off-kilter sincerity that mirrors Jonathon
Richman and, at times, Neil Young, while preserving his own
unique style of delivery.
"this is a truly accomplished album, showing Snyder's
musical prowess at its best. Some people may overlook this
masterpiece - don't make the same mistake" Big Issue
****
"ragged, acid-fried glory, tempered by a dusty, Neil
Young-like country flavour and splendidly bent, lyrical wit" Time
Out
"a cross between Jonathan Richman
and Neil Young in his acoustic prime"
