There isn't a lack of breaking bands in the UK, however, there is a lack of impressive ones! Luckily Born Ruffians are here to fill our auditary requirements for 2008. Their new single, 'I Need A Life' released on May 12th 2008 through Warp Records is taken from their upcoming debut album ‘Red, Yellow and Blue’.
‘I Need a Life’ is a take on classic call and response style rock ’n’ roll track, albeit with a healthy injection of their trademark rowdy harmonies. The single comes the delightful b-side ‘So long, Tadpole’. Revisiting vintage musical traditions once again, and turning to much loved 60’s style surfer rock for inspiration. Digitally, the single also comes with a remix of ‘Hummingbird’, by Fourtet at his most sublime.
If you're a fan of Skins, you may well have seen the band on April 7th when they made a special guest appearance. Born Ruffians tour the UK with Caribou through out May, make sure you catch a show:
