With singer Charlie Simpson being a former member of boyband Busted, a certain degree of prejudice exists with this quartet. Five years after forming those opinions have died down somewhat, as proven by their opening slot at Download Festival and a recent support slot with Feeder.

A contortion of grunge and emo, 'The English Way' will be a surprising treat for those who have so far dismissed Fightstar. Moody verses give way to a passionate chorus of blistering guitars and heavy drums, which will certainly find favour to a live audience. Winding up at barely over three minutes, it doesn't outstay its welcome and it certainly wouldn't be a surprise if it was to become the band's first charting single.
