An intricate, multifaceted mystery adventure, Watchmen is set in an alternate 1985 USA in which costume donning superheroes are part of the texture of everyday society, and the "Doomsday Clock" - which maps America's nervousness toward the Soviet Union - is eternally set at five minutes to midnight.

When one of his ex-contemporaries is murdered, the beleaguered but unwavering masked vigilante Rorschach sets out to uncover a conspiracy to kill and dishonour all past and present super-heroes.

As he reconnects with his past crime-fighting band - a ragtag group of retired super-heroes, only one of whom has true powers - Rorschach glimpses a wide-ranging and disturbing plot with associations to their shared past and disastrous costs for the future.

Their duty is to watch over the human race... but who is watching over the watchmen?

Watchmen The Movie, which is based on the much loved and well sold graphic novel, is directed by Zack Snyder (300) and produced by Lawrence Gordon (Die Hard), Lloyd Levin (United 93) and Deborah Snyder (300), with Herbert W. Gains serving as executive producer.
