Diana and Maureen are two very different girls who go to school together. Maureen has strong believes and Diana is developing more and more of a wild streak everyday, the couple become friends when Maureen warns Diana of an oncoming teacher whilst she is smoking a spilf. The two become almost inseparable until one day a student guns down teachers and students, all in all 15 people are killed, the gunman asks Diana and Maureen which one is going to die.

Fifteen years on Diana has settled down, she's married and has a daughter who is also developing the wild streak Diana had at her age. With the date of the anniversary of Maureen's death approaching, Diana's life is thrown into chaos, as her daughter grows more estranged and her husband spending more time away, Diana spends more and more time thinking about the past which have adverse effects on her life.
