Set in 1960's / 70's England The Damned United tells the story of football manager Brian Clough and his fated 44 day residence as manager of the current champions of English football Leeds United. The club has previously been managed by bitter adversary Don Revie.

The club were at the top of their game, having never reached such high goals in the league before, the teams style was very different to that of Clough, they played an aggressive game, much to the dislike of Clough. The film follows his fantastic 44 day period with Leeds United.

Based on the book by David Peace.
