Based on Simon Carr's novel, The Boys Are Back tells the moving and true story of one mans struggle to bring up his two young boys after the death of his second wife. Joe is the father of two boys, Harry is the older and a son from his first marriage. Artie is younger and the son of his late wife, when his wife dies Joe is distraught and left with a young family to bring up with very few ideas on how to do it. Joe develops a mantra of 'just say yes' with three boys living in a house together and few rules friendships develop but not for long, Joe must reign in the kids for their own good without harming their friendship.
