Beyonce Knowles takes on an unlikely role in Obsessed. Sharon Charles is a young woman studying business, she has a son, Kyle, and is happily married to her husband Derek who has just received a promotion at his place of work. When a new temp (Lisa) starts work in his office, his best friend and co-worker warns Derek that Lisa is interested in him and he should keep his distance.

The more Derek tells Lisa he's not interested, the more she falls for him, when Sharon becomes aware of the going on she intantly thinks something's going on between Lisa and Derek. Lisa continues to bombard the couple ruining their relationship all in order to get the man she wants.
