Good is an emotional tale of John Halder, a university lecturer of German Literature in the 1930's. He's an honest and respectable man who has been an upstanding member of the teaching staff for many years. When the Nazi's come into power, he's faced with the personal challenge of whether or not to join the party. After some persuasion reluctantly Halder joins the ranks.

One of his best friends is Jewish, and though his new party has spoken of a dislike for Jews, Halder wishes to remain naive on their whole stance. The relationship he once held with Maurice becomes more and more dangerous until they lose touch.

John Helder finds himself working at a concentration camp where he once again finds his lost friend. His whole being has changed and now he must come to terms with his new life.
