Darren is a typical 16 year old, he lives in a sleepy suburban neighbourhood with his family and he's just waiting for his life to pick up and something fun to happen. When a travelling freak show roll up in his town, Darren doesn't realise how much his life will change.

Larten Crepsley is a vampire who's lived on earth for hundreds of years, when he propositions Darren with a the tantalising idea of becoming a vampire and living forever seems appealing for a boy who's tired with his current life. Now living the life of the undead, Darren becomes part of the travelling circus family. Mistakenly Darren breaks a true between two fighting groups of vampires, Darren must fight to keep the little humanity he still has.
