Emily Jenkins is a family social worker, at times her job can be very uncomfortable but she enjoys it and is good at what she does, but nothing has prepared her for her new assignment, Case 39. Lilith is a 10 year old girl who's constantly told by her parents they're going to kill her and attempt to do so.

Emily takes Lilith under her wing and fosters the little girl. When things start going strangely, Emily digs a little deeper into her past and uncovers the real horror her parents and the little girl faced.
