After his Academy Award nomination for a short film called '9' in 2005, Shane Acker has joined forces with none other than the visionary Tim Burton (The Nightmare Before Christmas, Edward Scissorhands) and Timur Bekmambetov (Night Watch, Wanted) to create this beautifully animated fantasy tale for the big screen.

After the creation of the first synthetic brain, mankind is doomed to destruction. The world is now ruled by the machines who want nothing more than to eradicate any trace of human existence.

Our only hope is a small group of rag dolls identified only by their numbers who have formed a small community taking refuge from the hideous robots. Lead by '9' (Elijah Wood - Lord Of The Rings, Sin City) who discovers the group after waking alone in this post-apocalyptic nightmare, convinces the others that the only way to survive is to take the offensive, but first they need to find out why the machines want to destroy them.
