All girl rock band on the brink of success faces trouble when the lead
guitarist splits... but their savior appears in the form of Nola (Tiffany
Shepis), a brash gal who can play a mean guitar. She's hired on the spot --
and they decide to let her sing, too!
Unfortunately, Nola's got a past to contend with -- namely a drug-dealing
ex-boyfriend with massive acne scarring and a warrant for her arrest. Will the
band make it? Will Nola's new boyfriend (conveniently also a lawman) bust her
ass? Or will he, you know, do something else to it? This is, after all, a
Playboy production.
The production values are fair and the script is passable (though the sex
scenes are randomly thrown in without much care for the rest of the story). The
acting is better than most films of its ilk. That doesn't it make it watchable
or even much fun, though the drummer would be kind of cute if she lost that
tattoo.
