One of my all-time favorite guilty pleasures, The Highlander has no equal among
sword-and-sorcery flicks. Emphasis on the sword.
From an engimatic Sean Connery to the pulsating Queen soundtrack, the movie has
all you could want from an action flick. The flashbacks, the swordfights,
"There can be only one," ... gosh, just thinking about The Highlander makes me
want to track down some immortals and decapitate them.
Alas, it's not to be. But thanks to a super-affordable VHS and DVD offering,
you too can relive the magic (no pun intended) over and over again. A
classic. (The DVD includes about eight extra minutes of footage and a
commentary track that outlines the difficult -- and multinational -- production
of the film on a very low budget.)
