Not even Christopher Lee and Bette Davis can rescue this sequel to Escape to
Witch Mountain from being a derivative and nightmarish experience.
Oddly, the biggest offense isn't the asinine plot -- which has Lee and Davis
promptly kidnapping the alien/magical kids on their inexplicable and sudden
return to earth -- and seizing control of a nuclear power plant in a pathetic
extortion scheme. (How do they get control of the plant? They force little Tony
to levitate the plant's only guard into the air! Oh no!)
Most of the movie consists of Tia hiding out with a gang of street kids while
various car chases happen, all punctuated by a Shaft-infused funkadelic bass
score that's so out of place you can still hear Walt Disney ripping his hair
out.
It's insulting, offensive (poor, poor Jack Soo...), and simply stupid. If you
enjoyed the first film, don't sully your memory of it by watching this hunk of
junk.
