2003
Cast and Crew

Starring : Dominique Swain,Henry Thomas,Arie Verveen,James Urbaniak,Karen Allen
Hillbilly girl (Dominique Swain) has affair with big city attorney, so her hick
husband (Henry Thomas) locks her up in the house. Will she escape? Or more to
the point: Will you bother to keep watching until she escapes? This boring
melodrama has little going for it, proving once again that no one will ever
give Swain the chance to appear in a movie that doesn't suck out loud.
Aka Briar Patch.

I do not agree with the first review of this movie. I thought the script was
good and the actors were superbe. Even though some of main subject of the story
was heavily dramatized, i believe lots of women that have lived with an violent
man will be able to recognize themselves in this movie. The ending is
astonishing, I had no problem getting really tied up in the movie. The way the
story is build and the actors play remind me of the movie California with Brad
Pitt. If you did like California and the feel of it, you will probably enjoy
wathching Plain Dirty.
